“Conscientious, detail oriented and caring with a gentle touch.”
Hi! I’m Ciara (pronounced KEER-ah). I’m a licensed naturopathic doctor and a doula. I am Gilligan’s Guide certified as a birth doula. I support growing families from intention setting/calling in baby all the way along the path through postpartum. I have an integrated mind/body/spirit approach to my practice, utilizing well-loved naturopathic modalities (acupuncture, nutrition, supplementation, homeopathy, and physical and lifestyle medicines) as well as other healing arts such as reiki to support pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. It’s important to me that my clients feel heard, empowered, well-informed, and walked alongside.
I graduated from Johnson State College (now known as Vermont State University – Johnson) with a Bachelors of Science in Wellness and Alternative Medicine and then moved further north, going on to become a naturopathic doctor through the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. I spent part of my clinical year of studies in externship and doula training with Your Downtown Doula and am blessed to have stayed on ever since.
My early years in a rural part of the U.S. connected me with the rhythms of nature so for me naturopathic medicine and birth work could not be any closer to home. Looking after animals and the young has always been second nature for me. I come from an active background in Irish step dancing, soccer, and running and to this day find that physiology and what our bodies can do is incredible given proper nourishment and care, breath, rest, and connection. As a naturopathic doula, you’ll find me helping to facilitate this kind of environment that will help your body do what it was designed to do best!
