Your Downtown Doula is excited to introduce our International Board Certified Lactaction Consultant (IBCLC) training program.

What to expect:

This program is specific for students looking for mentorship hours through IBCLE’s Pathway 3. You can find out more about this pathway here:

500

supervised clinical hours

You’ll achieve your 500 supervised clinical hours in a clinic setting, working under Dr. Sarah Winward, ND IBCLC. Students will have hands-on experience in person, with a diverse range of clients. Dr. Sarah has been working with babies providing lactation support for 8 years and has provided mentorship to numerous students during this time. Her training as a Naturopathic Doctor and and Infant Craniosacral Therapist provides a unique framework for teaching.

YDD is not offering course work at this time, candidates must complete all 95 hours of course work prior to starting their clinical hours. Courses can be taken through any of the following:

Comprehensive Business and Practice Management Education

We know that excelling in lactation consulting also means being adept at managing a successful practice. Our curriculum includes:
  • Business Fundamentals

    Learn how to set up and run your own practice, from marketing and client management to financial planning.

  • Practice Management

    Gain skills in organising and streamlining your services, ensuring efficiency and client satisfaction.

Tuition is $10000+HST, payment plans are available

Hours must be completed within 12 months of enrollment

Our teaching clinic runs on Mondays and Thursdays from 9:30-3:30

Program will be offered in 2025.
